Charitable Outreach
“Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead.”- St. Teresa of Calcutta
Our faith calls us to love God and to love our neighbours, especially those who are suffering.
As Catholics we believe that everybody is made in the image and likeness of God and that nobody should be excluded from the wonderful gift of God’s creation because God loves us all unconditionally.
It is for this reason that we work tirelessly at Guardian Angels in order to serve others through charitable outreach.
At the start of each year, classes research and select a charity that they would like to raise money for.
Each year during Lent every class thinks creatively to generate a fundraising idea to raise money for their chosen class charities and those less fortunate than ourselves.
One of the most popular events is always our parishioners' tea which is run once a month and always attracts people from the Parish. During easter and Christmas, these people are invited into school for an Easter and Christmas dinner.
Our school support local, national and worldwide charities in addition to our class charities. These include CAFOD and St Chad's sanctuary.
We also support U.K based charities and old peoples homes, where our choir performs each year during Advent or Christmas.
Annually, we also raise money for the Fr. Hudsons Good Shepherd Appeal and look forward to attending the Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Chad’s Cathedral each year.
We have a close relationship with St. Chad’s Sanctuary and staff and visitors there are consistently amazed at our children’s generosity when donating goods such as toiletries.
